Het kan iedereen treffen, ongeacht geslacht of leeftijd. Het wordt veroorzaakt door een toxine dat wordt geproduceerd door de bacterie <em>Staphylococcus aureus<\/em>, die van nature aanwezig is op de huid en in de luchtwegen. De helft van de gevallen doet zich voor tijdens de menstruatie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>Symptomen<\/strong> <br \/>Ze treden niet noodzakelijkerwijs allemaal tegelijk op: hoge koorts (39\u00b0 of meer), hoofd- of keelpijn, braken, diarree, duizeligheid, flauwvallen, spierpijn, huiduitslag die lijkt op zonnebrand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>Bij symptomen:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-decimal flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\">\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Verwijder Le Disque onmiddellijk als voorzorgsmaatregel.<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Neem zonder uitstel contact op met een arts of ga naar de spoedeisende hulp.
