It can affect anyone, regardless of sex or age. It is caused by a toxin produced by the <em>Staphylococcus aureus<\/em> bacterium, which is naturally present on the skin and in the respiratory tract. Half of all cases occur during menstruation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>Symptoms<\/strong> <br \/>They do not all necessarily appear at the same time: high fever (39\u00b0C or above), headache or sore throat, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness, fainting, muscle aches, sunburn-like rash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>If you experience symptoms:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-decimal flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\">\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Remove Le Disque immediately as a precaution.<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Contact a doctor without delay or go to the emergency room. Lift the front<\/strong> Place your finger in the MoonDrop and push it upwards towards the front, until the front edge of the disc slots in behind the pubic bone. If it is still perceptible, it is probably not inserted far enough or not properly seated at the front.
